Packaging affects material cost, labor, lead time, carton utilization and retail readiness. A useful quotation needs more than the garment specification.
01
List every item that carries the brand.
Material, size and placement
Fiber content, symbols and language
Format and relationship to the main label
Artwork, stock, finishing and attachment
Data source, format and position
Size, color or warehouse identification
02
Define how one selling unit should arrive.
- 01
Show the fold.
Specify the presentation, fastening and whether any tissue, insert or hanger is required.
- 02
Choose the protective packing.
Confirm bag material, ventilation, warnings, sealing method and printed information.
- 03
State the sales channel.
E-commerce, wholesale and retail display can require different identification and presentation.

03
Plan how units are grouped for shipment.
| Decision | Questions to answer | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Assortment | Mixed or single color and size? | Warehouse handling |
| Quantity | How many units per carton? | Carton size and weight |
| Marks | Which PO, SKU and destination data? | Receiving accuracy |
04
Ask what the final unit price includes.
Confirm whether quoted pricing includes artwork setup, labels, tags, bags, inserts, cartons and application labor. Record buyer-supplied items separately with their required arrival date.
